June Scrapbook Shoppe Blog Hoppe

Well, tonite was the first nite of The Scrapbook Shoppe Blog Hoppe and I was not prepared :(  So, here's my little ditty and contribution :)   Last Saturday, I taught a class about digital media for several ladies at the shoppe!  I have a wonderful powerpoint presentation with all the information if you are interested...

So, for now, here's a couple of pictues of my Project 12 series -

It took a couple of hours to punch, distress and layer all the flowers, but the effects were definitely worth the efforts!

Here you can see the details of the flowers - they definitely turned out prettier than I expected (thankfully!)

Here is page 2 of my layout - this was the January and February Challenge pages. Yes, I know I am behind :)

I am such a ribbon nut, I love the femininity it adds to the layouts!

Next month, I hope to have more to add - I hope you all will come back and visit my blog.  In the meantime:  Here are some for you to enjoy of other wonderful scrappers from our local Shoppe!

Here's the next stop on the shoppe hop:  http://clairescutecreations.blogspot.com  Don't forget to stop at the Shoppe to see Judy Talley's card class an pick up your supplies

Welcome to my world...............

Design and construction has always been my passion.  Since the age of 5 and learning to sew using my mother's work scarves, fashioning Barbie dresses, building my own dollhouses out of cardboard and illustrating the very busy life of my dolls, creativity has always dominated my life.  Its been an outlet for frustrations, a solace for tranquility but mostly, therapy for the mind.  On the long days of work, school or parenting, my crafting corner waited for me like a long lost friend.  You know the kind, the ones who never change regardless of the time lost between reconnections, the ones who love you just the same for your idiosyncrasies, and put up with the moaning and groaning and love you anyway.

Over the last few years, I've been fortunate enough to make a small circle of friends who share that same passion for creating.  They have inspired me to try new things, to improve my skillset and have challenged my creativity to new heights.  For that, I am so ever grateful.  So, for my dear friends, this blog is for you.

Over the next few weeks, months, or years, I hope to share some of my creative insights with you if you will take this journey with me as we look at the world through this vintage perspective.  Welcome to my world, vintage-y, feminine, dreamy and not at all like the reality we live in from day to day.  We'll cover vintage textiles, vintage photography and storage, memorabilia and ephemera and hopefully, learn how to incorporate this genteel nature into our surroundings with an updated feel.

I look forward to meeting new friends, expanding my global neighborhood and learning from you all too!
Until then, see you in the crafting room!
